The Five-Finger Prayer
Here is a neat way to help you remember who to pray for and in what order:

Hold one hand out in front of you with the fingers spread apart comfortably.

Start with the thumb. It is the closest to you so pray for those people closest to you - family and friends.
Pray that the Lord will keep them safe and see to their special needs.

Next is the index finger. This is to remind you to pray for those people who teach us. Pray that the Lord
will guide them to teach us according to His will.

The middle finger is the tallest to remind us to pray for our leaders. Ask the Lord to help our local, state,
national, and world leaders to rely on His will and not their own.

The ring finger is to remind us to pray for our spiritual leaders. That they will continue to preach the Word
of God and the Will of God.

The smallest finger is to remind you to pray for yourself. You count, too, and are important to God. Pray
for Him to help you fill your heart with His joy, comfort, and love and to rely completely on Him to care
for you.

- Author Unknown

Back to Christian Page
